AcademicFellows is becoming part of Antlect, the integration, completed as of 24 August 2026.
Antlect is a decision intelligence platform for research and innovation. It models the innovation ecosystem as a descriptive digital twin, starting with New Zealand and Australia, and connects over 100 million grounded data points through a unified ontology so that research, innovation and policy can be seen as one system. Antlect's AI system is transparent, explainable and human-centred, allowing every output to be traced back to its source.
AcademicFellows started with a simple question: how do we make research expertise and capabilities more visible, connected and accessible across the system, especially as technology rapidly changes how knowledge is created and shared?
Along the way, it became clear that research cannot be understood in isolation. It is shaped by policy, capabilities, funding, organisations, industry, technology and the broader innovation ecosystem. That realisation led to Antlect, built to connect these elements and provide a clearer view of the system as a whole: systems thinking through a human lens.
Antlect's vision is to build the central feedback loop of the knowledge economy, connecting research, innovation, corporate R&D, technology startups and companies.
AcademicFellows is a research collaboration platform providing open access to the New Zealand research community through REANNZ Tuakiri federated identity. It connects researchers and institutions across the ecosystem, including universities, public research organisations, Centres of Research Excellence and independent research organisations.
AcademicFellows remains a research collaboration platform under Antlect. The platform continues to operate at academicfellows.com, and existing accounts and access are unchanged. The change represents a company rebrand, with AcademicFellows Limited becoming Antlect.
